How to Use This Site

Wrought Iron Concepts borrows its layout from an exhibition floor. Once the few conventions below make sense, finding your way around takes a moment rather than a search.

Halls carry letters

Our five categories are called halls, and each one has a letter. Hall A is always the largest, the one holding the most articles, and the letters continue from there in order of size. Because the halls grow at different rates, a letter can shift as new stands open. You can enter a hall from the main menu or from the floor plan:

Stands carry codes

Every article is a stand, and each stand has a short code made of its hall letter followed by a number. The numbers run in the order the pieces were published, so a lower number inside a hall marks an earlier piece. If you mention a stand code when writing to us, we will know exactly which article you mean.

Three ways in from the homepage

The floor plan shows the halls side by side, with their sizes, so you can see at a glance where most of the reading sits.

The programme lists stands by the month they opened. It is the quickest way to see what has been added recently, or to browse a particular stretch of the archive.

The A–Z index sorts every stand alphabetically by title, which helps when you remember roughly what a piece was called but not which hall it lives in.

The stand card on each article

Near the top of an article you will find its stand card. It repeats the stand code and hall, and includes an "at this stand" list summarizing the sections inside. Use it to judge whether the piece answers your question before you read the whole thing, or to jump straight to the part you need.
